Your Giving Makes It Possible
We offer a variety of ways for you to get involved, including our annual fund drive, program underwriting, matching gifts and planned giving program.
Each year, it is the generosity of donors who help us reach over 100,000 people in our Valley through Capitol Theatre events and activities – literally keeping our stage alive! Donor investments reinforce dynamic experiences that shape our Valley’s quality of life through access to enriching experiences.
Home to over 150 events each year, the Theatre’s stage features traditional favorites such as Town Hall, the Yakima Symphony Orchestra and the Best of Broadway Series. Less known events, including Kiwanis SongFest, Yakima Youth Awards and Capitol Kids, provide children and families with unique experiences that broaden exposure to diverse cultures and shared learning. Available funding directly impacts our ability to keep the Theatre vital and our stage accessible to these audiences.
Ticket sales are the financial anchor for the Theatre, and we are proud that they make up 80% of our overall $2 million operating needs. Annually the Theatre must secure 20% of its funding from resources other than ticket sales. It’s that final 20% that makes the difference between providing access to over 100,000 children and families each year or locking them out. Our vulnerability is real.
The Capitol Theatre is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Your donation is tax-deductible.
