The Robertson Room is located on the lower level of the Capitol Theatre. The rental area includes the main lobby entrance area, the lower lobby, the Robertson Room, kitchen and lower level restroom facilities. Special arrangements and written permission must be obtained prior to the use of the dressing room area or other areas of the building. Maximum capacity in the Roberson Room is 190 (120 comfortably), 60 for formal dinner, or 45 for a meeting in classroom style.
The Capitol Theatre does not have catering services. Users requiring catering should make their own arrangements but are welcome to use the kitchen and bar facilities, including sinks, cutting table, counters, ice machine, warming oven, and refrigerator. Please let us know, in advance, if you need to use any or all of these items. A setup sheet needs to be completed and returned to the Capitol Theatre Office two weeks prior to the event. The Robertson Room also contains a localized sound system with a cassette tape deck. The system is not very powerful and users should make their own arrangements for a system suitable for dancing.

Additional labor is for additional staff time required for the event. The Capitol Theatre reserves the right to provide additional personnel as necessary to facilitate a particular event. Normally this is one person who will assist the House Manager. If additional staff is required, users will be notified. Custodial fees will be charged for any excessive cleanup required.
NOTE: Basic room rental is five hours. This is calculated from the time the building is unlocked for access until it is re-locked following the cleanup of the event. The damage deposit is required with the signed contract, and total rental charges must be paid before the event date. Additional labor/custodial fees will be deducted from the damage deposit. You will be billed for any extra costs if incurred. If the event takes place on the evening of a normal business day, and the building schedule allows, any setup or access to the building prior to 4:30 PM is not included in the five hours of rental. Similarly, the user will not be charged for any additional rental if the event takes place on a Saturday or other holiday, and the previous business day building schedule allows for set-up time. Building access and setup time required prior to the event not covered by the above will be included in the five hours of rental and/or additional rental with a 2 hour minimum for split access.
Table cloths and dishes are not provided. These can be rented from The Party Palace, Crystal Linen, or other supply stores.
NOTE: Fire Department regulations state that candles with open flames may not be used. Use of votive candles is acceptable. All users are asked not to use rice, glitter, bird seed, or confetti inside the building. The cleanup of such materials is very difficult and custodial charges will be assessed if used. It is illegal to attach anything to any sprinkler heads in the building. They are very sensitive and could possibly be activated. Users may attach decorations, signs, etc. to glass surfaces but not to any painted surface.
Banquet Permits
Banquet permits may be obtained at any liquor store. Permits must be purchased by the user. If there is any alcohol served at the event, it is the user's responsibility to obtain this permit. Please note that this permit authorizes you to provide alcoholic beverages, but you may not sell the beverages.
