The Capitol Theatre's Best of Broadway series has featured a number of relatively modern productions this season, but this weekend it goes back to the good ol' days with the romantic romp "The Pajama Game."
Set in the mid-1950s, workers at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory are seeking a raise of seven and a half cents -- these days that doesn't sound too bad either -- which management rejects. That pits the factory's handsome Sid Sorokin against the aptly named union rep Babe Williams. As you can probably guess, the two have trouble keeping their chemistry out of the collective bargaining.
Performances are at 7 tonight and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday (note the earlier evening times) at the Capitol, 19 S. Third St.
Tickets cost $10 to $57.50 and are available through TicketsWest, 800-325-7328, or the Capitol Theatre box office, 853-2787.
