"I give to the Capitol Theatre and much of the Yakima Art's Community for the same reasons.
First, we enjoy the local Arts events and especially the Broadway Series. We are so fortunate to have the Capitol Theatre and the associated events in a community of our size. It brings a sense of pride to our community and we don't have to take our children out of town to experience the culture that they can get locally.
Secondly, the Arts and specifically, The Capitol Theatre, help economic development. When attracting business and people to our community, it is valuable to have a thriving Arts Community."

I was born and raised in the Yakima Valley and over the years have watched the Capitol Theatre become a prominent gathering place for our community, a “true jewel” in our city. It’s been a privilege for me to be part of the Capitol Theatre’s Board of Directors since 1995. As a member of this Board I have been able to help the Theatre continue to bring quality programming and services to this community. I’m proud of this theatre and its commitment to be a viable and integral part of downtown Yakima’s future.

I have always had a great deal of community pride in The Capitol Theatre and the benefits it brings to our community. This community pride probably started in 1978 when Bob Hope entertained at the theatre’s grand re-opening. Since that time I have witnessed how the Capitol Theatre has created a cultural infrastructure for our community by the many performing arts it presents including the Broadway Series, but also as home of the Yakima Symphony. I believe by contributing to the Capitol Theatre I am making an investment that pays off in making Yakima a better place to live.

The Capitol Theatre is the diamond in the jewel box that could be downtown Yakima. I look forward to a re-vitalized downtown with the Capitol as the centerpiece: Broadway shows, community events, choruses, excited young dancers at their first recitals, town hall lectures, a wonderful backdrop for entertainment at the Farmer’s Market, a show piece for the community.
