LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

On behalf of the Board of Directors and Theatre personnel, we want to personally welcome you to the 29^th season of the Capitol Theatre’s “Best of Broadway” series.   

The Theatre’s Board of Directors is committed to our community. By providing performing arts that enrich our quality of life and build appreciation for diverse art and entertainment, we build bridges across cultures and generations.  Ultimately, we help make our Yakima Valley a better place to live and raise our families.

This year we are once again living up to our values by providing you with Broadway shows that have never before been performed in our Theatre as well as partnering with the Yakima Symphony Orchestra for a performance of “Nutcracker” and reaching out to the youth in our community with the second season of “Capitol Kids”

Each time I walk into our magnificent Theatre I can’t help but be overcome by its grandeur and beauty.   How fortunate we are that over the years so many dedicated community volunteers have shared their time rebuilding and maintaining one of Yakima’s finest jewels.  This year is no exception, as we have a talented group of volunteers that make up our board of directors.  This year we would like to welcome our newest board members, Terry Powell, Tom Snell and Jeff Newgard.  Cindy Houser will also be joining our Executive Committee representing Backstage.
