BACKSTAGE

The mission of Backstage is to promote, support and maintain the Capitol Theatre and its programs. Members work to provide our diverse community with a variety of art and entertainment. We raise funds, provide social and leadership opportunities for our members, and work to insure community involvement and participation in the Theatre.

Letter from the President

On behalf of Backstage, welcome to our beautiful Capitol Theatre! We’re all excited to be “working our magic” behind the scenes, helping make sure that your Capitol Theatre experience is the best it can be.

Being on Backstage is both an honor and a responsibility. Since 1981, the group has been dedicated to helping with the Annual Fund Drive, decorating the Theatre and contributing to the Theatre Board, among other things.

This year we’ve also taken on supporting the Capitol’s youth theatre program, Capitol Kids. Through Capitol Kids, children from all over the Valley have the opportunity to experience live theatre. Without the popular program, the majority of these children would not have access to these art experiences.

I’m excited to serve as Backstage president at this busy time. The construction and improvements happening in and around the Capitol leave me wondering what new opportunities might be in store for us!

I’d like to take a moment to recognize and thank the nearly 100 fellow members of Backstage. Like you, we all lead busy lives, but love the Capitol Theatre so much we’re driven to help it succeed. From planning meetings to fundraising events to volunteering to help Gus, the theatre mascot, as he visits school children, Backstage is dedicated to helping secure the future of our grand theatre.
