December 14, 2011-Wednesday 2pm & 7:30pm

IT'S ALIVE! Take one historical tale, hand it off to Mel Brooks, then sit back and prepare to laugh yourself silly! From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation The Producers, comes a monster of a musical comedy: Young Frankenstein!

Young Frankenstein is a wickedly inspired sequel to the classic legend by Mary Shelley. You remember the story: Dr. Frankenstein is obsessed with the principle of life. Driven, he creates a being pieced-together from used body parts. Add a little electricity via a passing lightning storm and voilà, it’s alive!

Mel Brooks' rendition of the story takes the basic plot (creating life from nothing) and injects it with enough hilarity, zing, and zaniness to transform a tragic tale into a hysterical comedy masterpiece. The show opens in 1934, with villagers celebrating the funeral procession of the mad scientist, Dr. Victor von Frankenstein. Meanwhile, in New York, Dr. Frankenstein’s grandson, Fredrick, is the Dean of Anatomy at New York’s best university, "Johns, Miriam and Anthony Hopkins School of Medicine.”

Frederick is ashamed to be a Frankenstein, insisting that he is not a madman like the recently deceased Frankenstein. When he learns he has inherited his grandfather’s castle, he travels to Transylvania Heights, where he meets the hunchback Igor ("Eye-gore"), and Inga, a curvacious lab assistant from the local community college. And thus, the stage is set for the wildest, funniest telling of a thriller you’ll ever experience! Fredrick is lured into finishing his grandfather’s work, and the results will leave you begging for more.

In 2008, Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein wowed Broadway and earned a pile of Tony, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama Desk Award nominations. It won the Outer Critics Circle award for Best Musical, and the Broadway.com Audience “Favorite New Broadway Musical” Award. With such memorable tunes as “The Transylvania Mania”, “He Vas My Boyfriend”, and “Puttin’ On The Ritz”, the new Mel Brooks musical, Young Frankenstein is scientifically-proven, monstrously good entertainment ... and the only place you'll witness a singing and dancing laboratory experiment in the largest tuxedo ever made!
