“Another Generation Falls in Love” – Tulsa World

What happens when a boisterous eleven year old orphan moves to the lap of luxury? Join The Capitol Theatre for Annie, and find out!

Little orphan Annie dreams of someday finding her real parents. In the meantime, she lives with the other orphan girls in a cold New York City orphanage, and is ruled over by the nasty Mrs. Hannigan. Annie decides to run away, but is soon hauled back to the orphanage.

Luckily, she’s back in time to be chosen to spend the holidays in the home of billionaire Oliver Warbucks. Charmed by her irrepressible outlook on life, Mr. Warbucks helps Annie search for her parents, and when that doesn’t turn out, he decides to adopt her himself. Soon Annie finds her “Hard Knock Life” has become life on “Easy Street.”

Children and adults alike will love Annie’s antics and recognize the familiar tunes. And her furry friend will delight all, whether he’s wandering the streets of New York City, or popping out of a Christmas package.

Based on Harold Gray’s comic strip, “Little Orphan Annie,” Annie opened on Broadway in 1977 and ran for nearly six years. The show has been professionally produced in many different countries, and remains in high demand for high school and other amateur theatre productions.

“An intensely likeable musical…full of gutsy charm” – New York Times
